My 8 year old daughter actually requested this for a Christmas gift and I absolutely loved it! She created a little corner for herself in her bedroom. I love that it fits all together back in the box when she is not using it. It would be great for a classroom, but weve loved having it at home to try some of these strategies.
Im in my late 40s and already have a calm down corner in my outside office shed - although I never called it that. Its my quiet space with a bean bag, soft light and a closeup view of my fish tank. Its where I retreat to if things get too hectic in my head due to my autism.
Anyway I came across this and was intrigued. The messages the posters are very simplified, but effective, things to consider that I learned in CBT.
I do not have the wall space nor would want to cover an entire corner of my space with all of these. They are almost exactly A4 - so I trimmed a bit off the edges and slide them into a booklet with plastic A4 sleeves, then tucked the booklet behind my fish tank within easy reach of when I sit on my bean bag. The paper used is thick poster quality, glossy and well made. The print quality is excellent too. For the solutions wall, I trimmed them down significantly and hung them on my cork/message board above my desk with thumbtacks so I can move them around as needed. I didnt want to glue anything with the hooks as Im the kind of person whos constantly rearranging things. Hanging them up with thumb pins works a treat. I can circle through the mood cards as I wish.
I really like this - its simple, effective, and Ive been moving them around looking for the perfect place. If it works for me, it can definitely work for kids as its in simple, plain English and easy to understand with simple graphics.
I purchased these to be able to make a calm down room for my daughter. She absolutely loved them. They taught her a lot about ways to calm down and her colors and feelings. I would recommend this to anyone in the same boat as me with a high sensory seeking child.

I found it helpful to my kids. Learned the calming down methods my toddler likes to use with the options given. Helps my 10 year old to use and teach my toddler how to use it.
I wanted to create a calm corner at home for my young children, and this works. I give it to them in the calm corner, and they are able to calm down much faster than they did before when they did not have any materials. I love how organized it is also. Great purchase.
